Casey’s Scholarship Program
 
With the rising costs and concerns surrounding the financing of higher education, Casey’s has established a scholarship program to assist employees’ children who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Up to twenty (20) -$1,000 awards will be granted for the academic year 2010-2011. 
 
To be eligible, the applicant must:
 
  • Be a dependent child*, ages 17 to 24, of an eligible employee of Casey’s General Stores, Inc. or one of its subsidiaries or affiliated companies (collectively the “Company”).  An eligible employee is either a part-time employee who has a minimum of five (5) consecutive years of employment with the Company as of the application deadline date or a full-time employee who has a minimum of two (2) consecutive years of employment with the Company as of the application deadline date;  

 

A dependent child is defined by birth, adoption, legal guardianship or is a stepchild. In addition, a child must be unmarried and meet one of the following:

–Is under age 19, or

– Is a full-time student ages 17-24 enrolled in an accredited education institution. A full-time student must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours or as otherwise defined by the educational institution 

  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or its equivalent;
  • Be a high school senior or current postsecondary undergraduate; and
  • Plan to enroll full-time in undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire 2010-2011 academic year.
 
For those meeting the eligibility requirements, recipients will then be selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, and an outside appraisal. Financial need is not considered.
 
This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship Management Services®, a division of Scholarship America®. Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship Management Services®. Except for verification of employment of the dependent’s parent,  no officer or employee of Casey’s General Store will play any part in the selection of the recipients.
